International Year of Biodiversity

The United Nations have chosen 2010 to be the International Year of Biodiversity.

It is inviting the world to take action in order to safeguard the variety of life on Earth and the natural living systems that provide us with food, fuel, health, wealth, and other vital services. There are events taking place all over the world which aim to highlight the value of biodiversity and encourage a celebration of life on earth.

I am not an experienced gardener - more of an enthusiastic amateur who learns by trial and error and is keen to "manage" the effects of the weather on my garden. Writing this blog is my passion and I hope that it will continue to grow, allowing global gardeners to communicate about the effects of climate change on our plants and the future of our gardens.
